Key skills for a career in ALS and Supported Learning
Communication
You'll need to convey complex ideas in an easy to understand manner, adapting your communication style to suit the needs of individual students. You'll also be a great listener, and able to understand the concerns and requirements of students to make sure we're providing appropriate support.
Empathy
You'll need to understand the challenges that students face and be supportive through their learning journey. Sometimes progress might be slow so you'll need to be patient and provide consistent encouragement and support.
Flexibility
Every student is unique and their needs may vary significantly. You'll need to be adaptable in your approach and tailor your support strategies to meet their needs. This might involve modifying teaching methods, resources or environments.
