In my role as Group Director of People, I support the people function across both MKC Training (at RSME in Gillingham) and the two MidKent College sites - at Medway and Maidstone. 
This includes developing the People Services, Learning and Development and Payroll Services. I lead on the workforce development strategy and work with colleagues to deliver a plan that addresses the development needs of our employees to meet the Colleges vision. Creating and implementing the approved People Strategy and developing effective procedures and working practices are key within this. 
Recruiting and retaining our staff is really important to us as a successful business to ensure we are able to work with our students, their families and the local community.

I have worked in HR for a long time! I started in retail in the early 90's and quickly moved into Human Resources/People Services. Further Education has been my passion since I first moved away from retail and joined the FE family in 2010, as it is so rewarding. I was lucky to move into my current position at MidKent college in late 2020.
