Emily Blackburn

Hello, I am Emily, Curriculum Manager for Digital (IT and Esports) at MidKent College.

I have been working in FE Colleges for almost a decade, starting from learning support roles and working up into teaching and learning. I am extremely passionate about education in all aspects and as a member of my team, you can expect me to carry that passion forward, imbuing you with the drive and means to be innovative and creative in how you approach your role within our team, supporting us to achieve our unified goals.

The vital aspects I seek in a candidate are clear communication, passion, resilience and willingness to push yourself to the best of your ability. Skills are important but can always be learnt and experience, although also important, cannot be gained without being given a crucial first opportunity.

I am always open to talking about the wider team, my role and our range of students 'til the cows come home, so I am always happy to have a chat.
